Anyone promoting your site - this place is great! It's the ONLY way to find the best deals... yes, there are other ways, but this way puts the searching in the hands of the user.

Great idea. Now where is my PS3? :)

I love the Digg-style approach of posting deals on this site. It's easy to feel comfortable about a deal knowing that there's a general consensus about each and every product listed. Coupled with a nice interface where all the major details are listed at once, Dealspl.us is one of my favorite sites to visit every day.

seems to be good for giving everyone the same chance (including me :D)
and as for the prizes, the first 3 should pretty much make everyone happy.

Good job dealspl.us!

those are some pretty solid prizes. I think everyone on here would be pretty damn excited to land a PS3.

regarding the rules, maybe say post 5-10 deals, but beyond that you covered all the basics.

this site is one of the best on the web and congrats on all the success (and traffic).

I think that this site is pretty good, I like the layout, and the ideas behind it. Make more smaller prizes in lieu of huge ones that only one person gets.

I think anyone who registers should be eligible to win, and it would be nice if you gave away not only one big prize, but some little ones too. :)

Since your rules thursfar seem to be aimed at exposing and marketing the site, what if one of the rules was to see who could create the best promotional strategy for dealsplus?

For example, creating a youtube commercial.

Create a commercial that you can post on youtube and/or myspace videos. In this video, show 4 cavemen sitting around on rocks in their czve. Each is looking throuhg a section of the Sunday paper for the best deals and coupons. But looking through the sunday paper for the best deal is how things were done "in the stone ages." So across the cave, there is one caveman sitting with all the cavewomen. Beside him are fire, the wheel, and a laptop with deals plus on the screen. A slogan then pops up that says "who has time for other things if they're always in the hunt? Let us watch the deals for you. Dealpl.us"

Yeah, the promotional strategy sounds really great, and you have a pretty nice idea for the commercial too. We could also make shirts promoting Dealspl, or you could put it on the 100 shirts prize

How about award people that get the most plusses to their comments. Perhaps it would encourage people to make more useful posts rather than just posting to seem to be more active. Anyone could go and post on every deal on the site, but few people can post something really useful. I would like to see the comments become more relevant to the item rather than just a rant or something. Just a thought! Anyways, Dealspl.us has become a part of my daily site visits and has helped me part with plenty of money too. :P

Keep up the good work, not only Dealspl.us but to everyone who take the time to post the good deals they come across! Without them the site would not be what it is. To the Dealspl.us team, thanks for giving the necessary tools needed to make the participants posts more effective.

i think it should be to level 4 people and up because its us who actually posted enough to get this high on the site and gave them publicity but then thats my opnion not to be selfish or anything but how bout the big items that are the most expensive only level 4 and up are eligible for

I agree, it should be the people who have contributed the most deals to the site (this coming from somebody who hasn't contributed any deals to the site). I go here because the deals are posted here (that and the interface is nicer than a lot of other deal sites) so without those users that post the deals, I never would be going to this site.

Perhaps, but posting a bunch of items does not mean that they were always really good ones honestly (on here I imagine that most are excellent :). It's important to keep everyone included because a small group of superposters cannot keep up with thousands of posters who bring various niche sites here. And this event is geared towards reaching those people that come and go and bringing them into the fold.

ur right spkthed but then ur saying all our hard work has no meaning and there is no reason to post as much as we do. i post since i wanna help people get outta the habbit of buying electronics blindly without researching it and finding a good deal. i think by going to this website people can learn how to smart and get the things they want. whenever i see ppl in CC looking for a laptop they ask the man what type of laptop is right for them. they buy it at the stores regular price then they but the warranty and they have people do their rebates and install their software for them. then when they break their computer they pay som1 to fix it. so i wanna help then stop paying so much. but to motivate me the dealspl.us creators come up with prizes so i continue to post regularly. if some1 who doesn post as good deals as me wins something it just isn fair. that is why the big prizes should go to the most contributing members.

Your hard work is certainly appreciated and this site would not be the same without it. But in order to canvass the multitude of sites and places on the internet you have to have a big userbase and lots of contributing members. If people feel that they are not valued as much they get frusterated and that leads to tension. Look at Digg and all the drama that went down there.

Your rite, it goes either way. You cannot just give prizes to the best, cause the point of these contests are to get the site bigger with a bigger userbase. Thats why to solver the problem, the best way to go is weekly requirements. I mean im proud im #2 on the top users, but if thats true, i should get #2 in the weekly requirements, so it would be as fair.
