I'm not saying that these are fake, but there are a lot of fake Duracell batteries in the world, and Ebay is one of the places they often show up, along with dollar stores & gas stations.

If you order online, there isn't too much you can do to tell if they are fake before you order them, but fake Duracell batteries poop out very quickly and soon leak their corrosive contents. Some of the dollar store fakes have the name misspelled (Durasell) while maintaining the color scheme associated with the real brand. Some illegally use the real brand name, but the built-in battery tester is either missing or fake. Some come on a plain white card instead of the usual retail packaging.
