I love amaryllis!:) My current avatar is from a bulb, that has multiplied & been re-potted several times. Crazy thing, it blooms about twice a year now...maybe 30-50 blooms over the course of several weeks;)
It all started with a little kit like this!:D

You should! Mine seem to thrive on neglect...I just throw them outdoors in the summer, I think for 3 years, I couldn't afford a larger pot, so I had the cluster of bulbs in a cardboard box, lined with a sheet of packing foam & a trash bag!;) Just give them bone meal any time you can re-pot.
