I printed some myself. Once I used Office Depot. My own probably came out better (less trimming) cuz I only stacked a few sheets of card stock @ a time. Also I removed mine as they printed & spread so ink would dry, without smudging on the next. (not to dis Office Depot or any other printing shop)...I'm just anal & see millimeters.
Keep in mind, only you will see each side by side. Once you mail a card, I doubt 2 will be seen where a comparison would be made;)
One important thing to consider are the envelopes. The USPS has criteria on size & also on which direction you address (in regards to the flap) and even ink color.
My sister bought an invitation kit once, and the postage was higher because of non-standard size envelopes. Google, google, google & ask your PO clerk.

Ugh I know about the postage discrepancies. They don't like envelopes that are square ($0.65 instead of the typical $0.45) even if they're the same weight. I guess all I'd really have to do is invest in a good printer later on which will be worth it if all goes well! Thanks for all the info (:
