Product Description:
Exceeding even the highest expectations, the TX-SR875 A/V surround sound receiver deserves all the accolades it gets. The foundations of the TX-SR875 are its isolated power amplifier block (which supports a dual push-pull amplification design) and preamplifier. You'll also find a blend of onboard technologies to prime your home theater for high-definition playback. You're looking at the first HDMI-equipped Onkyo receiver to take up to four components with 1080p video and master-quality audio capabilities. All other signals, from 480i on up, can be upscaled to 1080p via HQV Reon-VX. Also, THX, Audyssey and Texas Instruments lend the very best of their expertise to round out this high-quality control center.
7.1 Multichannel Inputs
The emergence of HD-DVD and Blu-ray discs promises to bring unparalleled realism to home theater. Dolby and DTS have each developed improved audio formats to be encoded on these new DVD discs that will superbly complement the latest in high definition video. By connecting a player compatible with these new audio codecs to an Onkyo A/V receiver equipped with 7.1 multichannel inputs, you will be able to experience extreme sonic clarity from these new discs, while retaining the full use of the receiver's other onboard codecs.
Audyssey MultEQ XT
MultEQ XT is Audyssey's most powerful built-in solution for countering distortion in dedicated home theaters. This technology detects speakers, and then sets levels, delays and crossovers, as well as measuring room acoustics. Using the receiver interface, it takes up to 8 measurements around the listening area and uses high-resolution equalization filters for satellites and subwoofers. MultEQ XT covers both frequency response and time domain (where most of the problems lie) across the entire listening area. The results are immediately obvious-a clear, well-balanced and natural sound.
Dolby True-HD
Dolby TrueHD is Dolby's next-generation lossless technology developed for high-definition disc-based media. Dolby TrueHD delivers tantalizing sound that is bit-for-bit identical to the studio master, unlocking the true high-definition entertainment experience on next-generation discs. When coupled with high-definition video, Dolby TrueHD offers an unprecedented home theater experience that lets you enjoy sound as stunning as the high-definition picture.
HDMI
HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) This high-bandwidth interface supports not only brilliant digital video, but digital audio as well. Up to 5 Gbps of data-more than twice what's needed for a high-definition movie with surround sound-can be handled, with room for future requirements. All this data is kept in the digital domain, as there are no D/A or A/D conversions needed, to ensure the highest sound and video quality available.
XM HD Surround
XM Satellite Radio is America's number one satellite radio service. It offers 160 digital channels, including 68 commercial-free, diverse music channels; more than 40 channels of premier sports, talk, comedy, children's and entertainment programming; and 21 channels of traffic and weather information. Simply plug an XM Passport System into your XM Ready A/V receiver, and activate the service to start receiving uninterrupted radio programming of your choice. Now, in conjunction with Neural Audio, XM Satellite Radio offers XM HD Surround, which provides 5.1-channel surround sound on selected programming. This surround sound format will be available with selected A/V receivers that have the Neural Audio codec.
