Just for the record this is a discontinued model. And honestly I would steer clear of Samsung TV's for awhile. They have been slowly changing their business model when it comes to TV's and have been using shotty componenets and electronics to appeal to those who dont want to pay the premium for what they did have at a time which was a wonderful tv. Samsung currently has a class action suit against them for their tv quality based mainly on the fact they barely last 2 years anymore.

We've bought 2 Samsung large screen tv's in the last 3 years. The older 50" went out last week. I bought the extended warranty from Sears (thank goodness) because it was the power box that went out. This year we bought the new 3D LED 55" Samsung. For both we sent well over a thousand. For the price you would think they could still use good components. But anyway I saw what you said and it rings true since that power box went out after less than 3 years.

I Bought a HDTV was almost 6 years ago and it still works GREAT, the bad thing is i bought extended warranty for 5 years and now its 6th years and havent went out yet, its was about $400 for extended warranty.
