Q: Ammo shortage

I went to Wal Mart recently... absolutely ZERO ammo, including 12gauge shells which never sold out before. And when a box is in stock, you can only buy 1 to 3 per day depending on the item. This is insane! I call it the Obama scare.

I m ordering 5 cases from Cabellas.

This is in Cali, how are the other states?

No problems in PA. One reason its awesome here. 10 minutes at the courthouse and $20 gets your LTCF. Buy a Sheriffs hat for $10 at the same time and you get a pass to get our of a traffic violation. Ammo is plentiful and it doesnt take weeks or a month to buy a handgun. Just about 5 minutes of your time.

About the same in Texas. Nothing to be had, when it comes in it is quickly bought up and sold by individuals at marked up prices. People are selling .223 ammo for about a dollar a round. Even .22s cant be found.

haha firearms is definitely a very sensitive subject. I am pro firearms when it comes to shotguns and rifles used for hunting and trap/skeet/sporting clays shooting.

However, there isn't really a need to own an AR-15, AK-47, MAG-90 though, unless you just want to look cool or blow off some steam.

Think of those guns you mentioned as a condom. Its better to have one and never need it than it is to need one and not have it. Its no different than a 60" tv, or someone owning a mercedes, or someone who loves caviar. There is no need for it, some like it though.

I buy my .45 ammo from the shooting range on campus with my student discount. There's a great sporting goods store up here with lots of ammo. http://www.northwoodsports.com/

Figures I got 3 thumbs down for my comment. Its not even a bias statement. Just a fact that when Obama got re-elected and the shooting gun and ammo sales went through the roof. My local town it is still hard to find ammo. Even some online stores the stock is up and down.

I have found ammo at the smaller gun shops. But none at big box stores. You can find some if you show up when the shipment comes in for walmart. usually in the morning and you will have ot get the day from the employee.

My family visited Colonial Williamsburg and the Jamestown Settlement this past weekend. While in the Jamestown visitors center gift shop, a tween girl picked up and aimed a toy rifle when her apparent mom exclaimed "put that down! It makes me very uncomfortable!" At first, I thought to myself, "what are you doing in a place like this, lady?" Then I thought how much fun it would have been to pop an air pillow or a paper bag right at that moment.

Seriously, had that lady's attitude been prevalent at the time history was being made here, there would be no United States. And no dealspl.us.
