You purchashed the item you can do as you see fit with it. Thats like saying adding a stainless exhaust to my car is illegal. That being said there really is no benefit of hacking your ps3 except for playing pirated games which is illegal. Oh and you will get banned from the playstation network as well.

i completely agree, you paid for it and should be allow to do whatever you want with the system. just saying most people jailbreak to play pirated games and shouldn't be discussed here.
