Q: Anyone else sick of the shill comments?

I've been noticing this for quite a while, but it seems to be popping up more often lately. Maybe my fuse is just shorter, or maybe I'm spending time on different store pages. Here's one example: http://dealspl.us/sierratradingpost-coupons/206064 The coupon is for 25% off an order of $150 or more. Some simple math says that you'll save a minimum of $37.50, and more if your subtotal is greater than that minimum of $150. But TWO anonymous comments have already been left. Golly gee, must be a great coupon!! "No way, I saved $7.41 on my order !" "Nice working and I Save to my purchase For $8.41!" They're always in broken Engrish, and they barely ever make sense with the discount outlined in the code. What gives? Why are spammy fake shill comments not removed? Staff?! Anyone?!

To add to that...some people mark the coupon negative when it is still working. It bumps that coupon down on the page the more negative votes it gets and thus keeps theirs higher on the list.

I know I have said it before but I WOULD LIKE TO BE ABLE TO SEE WHO IS PLUSSING the deals. That would keep the people with aliases from being able to unfairly bumping their deal ratings.

In the same vein, maybe they could disallow anonymous commenting.

I agree anonymous people should not be aloud to comment or plus or minus.

and to add that people thumbs down an offer when they don't understand the terms, ie coupon or disc for certain locations, etc

Now that ---^ is too funny!

(a spammer posting something in this thread. Not ninetyonesgirl if the admins have removed the spam by this time)

the spammer (globodyne47, so we know when it's removed and can shun if s/he returns) posted on my profile too.

Maybe the spammers a thumbing down my question and the comments. Are they sad we're on to them?

Another peeve "nice! they don't usually have this!" Really, on "coupon" that's just a link to the sales page? They DO always have that, because it's a link that always goes to the sale/clearance page.

I still think it's funny that no mods or admins have graced us with their presence. I'd really like to know why this isn't handled more swiftly...or in some cases at all.

And most of them have a Member Since: February 2011 next to them. So they keep making new names up each month. Whether it’s to boost there own deals or make bad comments or minus good listings, it is wrong and needs monitoring.

I personally enjoy the "Please tell us why you liked this deal!" that seems to show up every once in a while. It's as if the fact that it's cheap and we want to buy it isn't obvious enough as to why it's a good deal.

I wanted to be a mod or something for the longest time since I used to spend a lot of time here, but can't say I could devote as much time to it anymore to do a good job though. Still, I think DealsPlus should delegate some simple mod powers to tried and true users.

I've noticed the "fake" comments on codes for many months & it really burns me. They don't even make sense. "Thanks for I save $10" on a code for $20 off $50. Where are all these fake comments and +'s coming from? I used to suspect the mods were trying to make the codes more appealing but they know how to put a sentence together & I doubt would make the same careless mistakes stating unfounded values. It isn't too difficult to figure out that you can sign out then come back to plus your own coupons & deals. What's up with all the newbies posting duplicate deals? They always say that dp didn't tell them it was a dupe deal so they know it's o.k. Ugh!
