Q: Anyone see any good new movies lately?

With the Oscars'  (Academy Awards) coming on tomorrow night I thought I'd try to catch up on some movies but none really stick out.

I prefer comedy, drama or action films but haven't seen many choices available.

I thought it'd be a good place to share some movies you've seen recently to get some idea's.

I haven't seen ANY new movies so any suggestions are welcome:)

Its not life of PIE lol but its a good movie. Lincoln was garbage imo. One movie I highly recommend though its not new (2011) is Machine Gun Preacher http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1586752/

In my opinion, The Impossible, should at the vest least been nominated for Best Picture. I was not a fan of Lincoln or Zero Dark Thirty.

Amour - Good, but not great.
Life of Pi - Absolutely beautiful graphics, not really expected to win.
Argo - Very good, I'd be a little surprised if it won but understand the nomination.
Silver Linings Playbook - One of my top favored movies of those nominated, but the awards are political and won't likely win. To be honest, some of my friends with similar issues did not like it for obvious reasons.
Django Unchained - Awesome break neck story and movie making for the first 70%, slows down but enjoyable overall.
Les Miserables - I didn't know the story ahead of time and really enjoyed the story itself, I wasn't a fan of the non stop singing (no dialogue).
Beasts of the Southern Wild - Has an indie feel to it, weighs of you a little but pretty good.

My friends and I are movie buffs, we even try to guess who will win! Unfortunately I am working during the awards so I'll have to keep checking the net for updates.

@cid681 Wow that's great info. thank you for taking the time to share! If I were you I'd stay on Twitter for the updates or they have a free Oscars' App! That does suck you have to work:/ I just hope they are more exciting this year since Seth MacFarlane is hosting but I'm sure you can watch it online after you get home or some highlights?

Thank you everyone for the great reviews and suggestions! Every time I go to watch I movie I struggle with choices so this will be a great resource for me:)

I agree with Cid681... Silver Linings Playbook best movie I've seen(they filmed the movie at my husbands place of work, awesome perk he got to meet each and every cast member said they are all very nice!)

My friend's grandfather was involved in the making of Argo, and I believe he spoke at the Golden Globes. And I've seen it; it was a great movie. I recommend it. :)
