Apple has finally announced that they will have the iPhone 5 launch event on September 12th in San Francisco, California. Based on Apple's invitation to the press, the new iPhone will/should be called an iPhone 5 (not iPhone 4SG or whatever). As rumored, Apple will announce the brand new iPhone 5 and the new iPod line. However, according to multiple sources, Apple will NOT announce the mini iPad 7-inch until October (to hype up the iPhone 5 even MORE). The iPhone 5 is rumored to have a 4-inch screen, a mini connector, more ram and processing power plus much more.

Amazon WILL announce their Amazon Fire 2 or whatever they plan on calling it this Thursday, September 6th. According to multiple sources, Amazon will announce 2 new 7-inch Kindle Fire (1 high end and 1 low end model). We believe the low-end model will be very similar to the current Amazon Fire with minor modifications like a new user interface. Sources believe the high end model will include more storage space, a faster processor, a camera, and a HDMI port (Take that Nexus 7!). Rumor has it that Amazon has a 10-inch tablet prepared and ready but will NOT announce it this week.

Amazon is one of the first "big" company to release a 7-inch tablet onto the market, followed by Google Nexus which released last month, followed by Apple's iPad mini which is set to debut sometime next month.  According to Amazon, the Kindle Fire takes roughly 22% of the tablet sales in the US market. This number will certainly decrease as Google sells more Nexus and when iPad Mini plan its debut next month.

Whoa, a 4" screen. A new data port rendering all that gadgets you bought for your iphone/ipod uselss. Sounds like a fail to me. My employer is ditching Blackberry's and going with iphones so were all getting one cant wait to see if my thoughts about this phone being a flop come true.

i doubt it'll be a flop..has any of the apple items really been a flop? okay..minus maybe itunes ping or whatever. yeah..i don't like the change of the port size change..but hey..if you don't change a thing..how do you grow, right? like most things..at first it might be a bit of pain..to have to adapt and adjust..but after that..should make like easier..should..

Yes MANY apple items have been a flop. Just a short 15 years ago Apple was on the verge of bankruptcy and folding up shop. Do you recall items such as e-World? TAM? Rokr? Lisa? Newton? Pippin? Or maybe the puck mouse? Just to name a few. Apple has had more flops than they have had quality products. So the answer to your question is yes.

i think flops are there..but have you seen any flops lately? just because i made a bunch of mistakes when i was a kid, doesn't mean i'll make those same mistakes now. don't get me wrong..i still make plenty of mistakes..just sayin'..

to recap: i don't think it'll be a flop..no matter what product they put out there..some will hate it, some will like it, some will love it..it's all relative.

Im not talking a total failure. Im talking just poor sales and lack of notable technology to ensure their future in the product line is bright. By no means am I saying it wont sell. Just moreso that they are already leaps and bounds behind Samsung in technology that I dont see anything on this phone that makes a dent in all the things that a recent Android phone can do because really its not even close at this point.

fair enough. lack of technology..sure..i can see that, but poor sales, i don't see that. unfortunately, i feel like it's one of those things that no matter what they put out, people will buy..just because it's apple. reminds me of a video...here

when the 4s came out...people weren't happy..but they sold like crazy..even the new ipad did well..

Thats true because people dont know any better. The average user has no clue how to use most of what their phones do so as far as they know its the king and they trust the name. Im just the guy who was one of those people who jumped the fence and realized just how poor that iPhone really is. Ive had this discussion to great lengths with a friends who is a huge Apple fanboy. There is just no single thing the iOS does better than Android (especially when it comes to the GS3) but there are a dozen things the GS3 can do that the iPhone either is terrible at or cant do at all. Like I said I am getting a new iPhone here shortly from work so I will really dig into it and make a page comparing it to the Galaxy.

yeah..i totally agree with you, though..most people have no idea how to fully utilize their phone..they just want the fanciness. i do have to admit, though..the GS3 is pretty slick..based off of what i've seen so far, at least. part of me feels that the iphone has the technology to make stuff happen, but they purposely wait a year to add stuff in..marketing. they know we'll want something..so they have us buy this version first..then a year later they add that functionality in and make people feel like they need to upgrade or something. what's nice is that i think apple finally started taking clues from jailbroken phones..i've noticed as they update their ios, the need to jailbreak isn't as apparent.

I don't know why they are making an ipad mini because the iPod touch is basically the iPad miniaturized anyhow!!

There is a big difference between an ipod touch and a 7" tablet. Not everyone wants a 10" tablet nor do they want to spend $500. So how doesnt it make sense?
