better deals for groceries

it's not about what coupons you find in the paper, it's more about which coupons you can find from the manufacturer. once you can find coupons from the manufacturer, wait for your local store to have coupons in the paper for the same item. it's when you can find a coupon from BOTH store AND manufacturer that you score BIG! aside from that, many times you need to look at the limits that the coupons allow. if they allow you to stack coupons or to use them multiple times, you may end up saving more with the more you purchase. be sure to read the fine print. sometimes you'll need to get in line again or have someone go with you to get the deal more than once. if you have free texts, look into the store you're trying to purchase from. many stores now a days have hidden deal codes or just random promotions that they'll text you when available. that's one great way to get an advantage. or you can still do it, but normal text rates will apply =). along with texts, you can also usually sign up or subscribe to the stores you like. that way you can get weekly emails or info about promotions and deals. sometimes the deals just get to you first, which means you can have your pick before a majority of the population does. some stores will even just send out special coupons for those that are subscribed or even free vouchers for certain products. as we all know..in this case..free is good =). ooh..don't forget about price matching items. many stores nowadays are doing it. find a deal, price match it..and sometimes they'll even discount you a bit more to make it the ultimate cheaper deal. aside from that, keep in mind that many stores will accept coupons from other stores of the same nature..for example..Jo-Ann's will take coupons from Michael's...pretty neat =).. one thing that will make a huge difference is just your attitude and mentality of the search. you really need to treat this like black friday or something of that sort. do your research. put in the time to really get the deals you want. it'll take time, but it might just be worth it in the end. don't give up. it may seem difficult at first, but it definitely gets easier. sunday papers are a great place to start =) sometimes it's also better to work as a group. for instance, if you and your friend can both try to find the same deals, then you'll both get coupons. since you both will have different addresses, you both can get the sunday paper. with more addresses, you can get more papers, which gives you more coupons. more coupons means more goods =). aside from the great deals, it's also a great support system. hopefully this helps a bit.. GOOD LUCK! **i'm adding tips as i can think of them, so this may not seem very organized =)**

i agree, the way they save on the shows is when they combine two coupons or deals.
and it's exaggerated on the show b/c they buy 50 items of the same thing. let's be honest, you don't need 50 of anything but it's nice when it's free, but it's a waste if it just takes up space in your house.
i swear, that show is the prequel to Hoarders

My husband has been "couponing" for about a month now. He gets the best deals at CVS, Walgreens and Rite Aid. Plus, the Shaw's here pays double for coupons $.75 or less.

It takes a lot of planning and effort and space but he's doing a really good job. We got a lot of amazing deals.

It does feel like hoarding and I never got it. However, when I'm getting things for free and they're paying me money to take it out... I'm getting it.
