Q: Better quality deals with help from mods

My thought on us having the ability to help make DP a real deal site would require regular input from DP Mods.
Perhaps if we were given data on what the majority of site visitors both search and click on then we,as MM's and deal posters can concentrate on those products, departments.

I'm not sure what would feasibly work to acquire the data would be. Weekly, monthly?

But let's face it,if we are getting 10 searches a month for headphones why post 100? When the other 90 could actually be directed towards what is trending at the time?
It's a win-win-win for us,DP and consumers.

I realize this would create somewhat of a bum rush on these types of products but in the same sense that's when the best deals will actually be found and posted.

I know they have the most clicks on here, but that doesn't appear to accurately give the real picture.

Feel free to chime in on this or any other ideas you have.
It seems DP is trying to better the site and visitor satisfaction so now is our chance to give really thoughtful and realistic ideas.

The issue with that would be that people don't shop for the same things every month. Also, it seems like the mods are always busy and I'm sure this would create a lot more work for them. I agree, it would be interesting to have an idea of what people might click on, it just seems a lot easier said than done. Just my 2 cents.

Honestly I dont like this idea. We arent here to cater to a specific hot item. The purpose is to get people to buy things they might not normally buy but being its a great deal they do. It sounds good in theory but it would be better off just having a message board with a forum where people can ask for help finding a deal. This is why I like message boards. You can have many subjects covered with a specific forum rather than something like ask and share which is just a cluster of various subjects.

@Acidbaby I get your point,I think I was aiming more in general of what items are most clicked not just one particular item, but like I said I can see where your coming from also.

I see what youre saying. Maybe what could be done that would accomplish that is like the trending store listings like on the front page. I dont know if people realize that is how that works with the popular stores. The larger the font the more clicks that specific store is getting but you could have trending categories in similiar fashion.
