Looking to buy a good camera to start up photography. Need to know the best, inexpensive camera to get.

I just ordered a Nikon Coolpix P100. The feature list looks great. MSRP is $400, but Amazon has it for $300 right now, which is the cheapest I've seen it besides a few-hour-long pricing error.

It's not a full SLR, but it's a good entry point. I also like the 26x optical zoom and that it shoots full 1080p video. Check out the full product details at Nikon's website.
