Q: Can't believe I almost got duped... From Walmart yet...

I received a phone call, saying this was a appreciation call due to a recent purchase you had recently done from WALMART. (Which I had) I am not selling anything, and you don't have to subscribe to anything, but we want to send you a $100 gift card, simply for being a rewards member.

... The only thing you have to do...
is to pay shipping and handling $3.95 for the card to arrive in the mail in 3 business days.

Is that okay with you? Which credit card do you want to use? Any card is okay. Blah Blah Blah...

Afterwhich, I said no thank you and hung up...

Asking WALMART- Seriously??????????????????????????????????????????????????

Be on the alert!!!!!!! That is just sad. I would expect more from Walmart. It came from a 215 number.

UPDATE:
I called back to remove my number from their list. And, not five seconds later- did I receive yet another phone call!!!!!!! For the same thing!!!! Come on, WALMART- you can do better...

I doubt it's walmart, but a scam none-the-less. Google the whole number (I had some "You have won" type junk texts a bit ago, and those numbers had already been reported.) I seem to recall they had 215...

Most phone numbers that show up on scam phone calls are for all intents and purposes fake. Often the numbers belong to VoIP gateways that are shared by dozens if not hundreds of different service providers. Not only do the numbers not accept incoming calls, but you can't even tell which service provider the scammer used to place the call. This type of number often shows up when the caller simply uses a pre-paid calling card.

Most people shop at Walmart so 50-75% of the people they call probably will have made a "recent" purchase at walmart, which helps with their scam

usually stores, banks, credit cards, cell phone companies never call you requesting personal information usually you have to call them so be careful who you give your information like credit card numbers over the phone they will have a nice Holidays with it

@omegafemale is right. Cam't hurt to make Walmart aware. Chances are the con people are constantly changing numbers, but it is good to make Walmart aware of what happened
