Do you do car waxing?  Is it important? How much bucks or do you do it by yourself ?

These are questions in my mind, anyone with this answers is appreciated.

It's not expensive to do it yourself, but it does take a lot of time. I don't know how much car wax costs, but I know my husband bought a special one for his car and it was $25. I think you can get regular wax for about $5-$10.

Waxing is just going to put swirl marks in your clear coat. I fully detail my paint once a year. Clay bar, swirl remover, sealant etc. I use Chemicalguys.com exclusively as all their products are just ridiculously amazing. Run your car through the gauntlet of say this kit http://www.chemicalguys.com/Chemical_Guys_HOL_788_All_in_One_Lab_Kit_p/hol_788.htm and it will loook better than it did at the dealership.

I try not to pay too much attention to how my car looks until my family comes to visit. At that point I just use a drive through wash. Good ol' 2010 Altima gets a wash about once every 2-3 months or as needed. I care more about the interior since I'm the one inside of it.

toyota does it for $64, does it worth it or bring a $10 kit and do it by yourself? Which is better?

Has anyone done by yourself?

A $10 kit isnt going to do anything great for you. Just buy a spray bottle of meguiars quick wax, a spray bottle of meguiars quick detailer and some microfiber rags and do it yourself. Paste wax is a waste of time if youre not buffing it with a buffer.

These are for the ultimate version of the wax and detailer. Just get the red bottles if these are too pricey for you. Youll get the same results.

I don't actually do it - but hubby and son swear by an electric buffer to use with the wax to keep the cars looking new... it's a round orbital thing - hope that helps...

If you want swirl marks gone though its going to take more work. Either going to a professional detailer or like i sad buying everything you need and going through all the steps of detailing a paint job as seen here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YmQx21lAVXw

What is the normal price if we do with the auto clean dealer or someone with professional?

A good detail job is usually over $100 and up to even $250-300. Depends what all you want done. They will go as far to clean out your wheel well liners and blacken them. Or engine detail as well. I do all my own. I have an older Pontiac I bought new in 2006. You can eat off that engine bay. Ill be detailing my Cadillac in a few weeks when I get my summer wheels on when I get home from my business trip.

It's cheaper if you do it on your own. Less expense :)
