Q: Comments don't always mean it was a good deal.

I comment on a lot of deals.  Sometimes I comment because it was a good deal and sometimes I comment to add information about the product or to note  something interesting about the deal.  In those cases I don't Plus the deal.  If it was a good deal then Plus it.

So, here's my question: Should we only comment if we think a deal is good?

I know we can also comment to say a deal is bad but I have only done that once and that was for those battery deals that were coming up everyday. Otherwise, I don't want to rain on someone's parade. But sometimes a deal is just okay but I have a comment to make, especially if it's a technology item.

I agree with you, I used to feel bad when people didn't plus my deals after comments, But have learned a lot about dealspl.us and the deals. It might be a great deal to someone, or in general, but if it doesn't apply to you, you shouldn't have to plus it.
There are a lot of great deals, and a lot of bad deals. Plus what you like! Just have fun! We should all just get along and share great deals! :)

I've had some folks message me to ask why I commented on their deal but didn't Plus it. So, I thought this might explain it and we could also talk a bit about the whole subject of what a comment means. There are times that I have no idea if a gadget's price is a good deal but I love the new gadget so I make a comment.

No, I don't think we should reserve comments only for what we consider good deals. And comments don't necessarily require a Plus+ along with them. I do, however, like to Plus+ whenever I leave a positive comment.

General comments can provide more information and increase curiosity on the deal, so they are definitely welcome. Keep commenting! Plus+ what you think is good! What heyyouredennise said!

Erick I noticed you don't have an egg picture like me :) .. People should relax. It's not a big deal if your deal didn't get a plus but a comment. The world isn't going to end.

I wondered why everybody had the egg pics. Did you change it or did they change it for you? I made up my own avatar last week as I couldn't settle on anything I could find surfing. I decided that "Amazing!" was an upbeat thing to see and yellow is friendly :)

I think if your going to take the time to comment on someones deal, 95% of the time you must have been impressed by it and actually stopped and took the time to look at so why not give it a PLUS why your at it?! PLUS's are free and to me only tell the person, "Hey Cool Item, Great Price, etc." If more people would use the "Heating up" section and give a thumbs up or down to a deal, the really good deals would make there way to the top and the bad ones would be sent to the back.

The egg picture is for the Easter giveaway for dealspl.us.
I sometimes comment the deal as a review or other times, say it's not worth buying ((criticism I guess).

Also, erick99, I wanted to post a comment on your wall but we weren't following each other. Since you seem to be pretty up-to-date on tech stuff, I wanted to ask you about any new phones or recommendations in general. My upgrade for Sprint is May 1. They're allowing preorders May 7 for the HTC Evo 4G LTE and I'm debating on whether I should get that, the iPhone 4S, or wait for the iPhone 5. I'm relatively tech savvy so I understand most of the specs; however, I don't know how much they differ if it's not by too much. Just looking for some input! Thanks

Arsiel, I'm with Sprint as well and as soon as August 1 rolls around I am buying the HTC Evo 4G LTE. I think it's going to be the best Android phone in my opinion. If you are an Apple person then I would wait for the iPhone 5 as it will have some significant difference over the 4S. I have an HTC EVO 4G and I love it. The bigger screen, faster processor, higher res display, and other features make the EVO 4G LTE hard to beat.

@arsiel and erick99, if your contract is going to be up, why not switch to straighttalk through walmart, they only charge $45 a month for unlimited everything and they USE the sprint network. I know you have to pay a little more for your phone up front, but you save in the long run, Just thought I would throw that option at ya! Plus you wont be stuck in a 2 year contract.

StraightTalk is a great deal but I couldn't afford to pay $600 up front for the phone. Also, straighttalk doesn't give you 4G and they have that sub-networked throttled a bit even on 3G. But, it is a very, very good deal otherwise.

I am not sure but i think that Sprint has a limited selection of phones that they allow on a straightalk plan. That was true as recently as a few months ago but it may have changed.

i'm too lazy to read all the comments above mine, but here are my thoughts. you should be able to comment on a deal no matter what you think of the deal. comments can be good or bad. they can serve to help a consumer. if comments were only on deals that were good, then it wouldn't seem fair.

@erick99, They now have a sim card deal that you can use on any unlocked phone, and you don't have to use there phones. I think the sim card is $15 and then you bring your own phone. website is: www.straighttalksim.com.

Ah, well right now I have a Palm Pre (zzz, I know) so it's been a while since I've really had a chance to use a decent phone for a long period of time. My boyfriend has the iPhone 4S and I've always liked how aesthetically pleasing Apple OS continues to be. I've only really played around with a Droid when it first came out. Whenever someone asks me for my opinion of the two, I always say that iPhone's are for people who want a nice phone but aren't too savvy when it comes to programming and Droids are for those who are.
Oh, I also read that they've amped the battery life for the HTC Evo 4G LTE as well.
Between the 4S and the HTC, I would definitely go with the HTC so I guess my main concern is what the 5 will be like :/
@krmills1, I'm with my brother on his plan and he's been with Sprint for over a decade so I don't think a 2 yr contract will be that binding for us. Haha. Also, we have the unlimited everything plan for around $50/person. Seems to be worth it... Certainly not paying $600 upfront for a phone

A plus is supposed to mean that you think the deal is good. I don't see comments warning of potential downsides or limitations of a product as negative, just informative. I've posted many such comments, and no one has ever expressed any offense to me.

I only give a thumbs-up to what I think is a good deal, and there are a lot of them. I reserve thumbs-down almost exclusively for spam comments, or in the very rare case that a deal is so obscenely bad that it rips the very fabric of the universe.

Well, if you DO rip the fabric of the universe there is a very good deal on a kit that repairs . . .

First I think that a comment should be left good or bad. Then people kinda get to know what others are looking for (deals wise) or if they happen to find a better deal for that item. I know I would want the best price possible. Second, I am really glad their are others out there trying to help people save money :) its a good thing to see.
