Q: Expiring a deal?!?

What is the politically correct usage of expiring a deal?

To me if the sale expires with an expiration date then you can add the expiring date, then the deal expires itself.

If you go into a deal and the price is no longer the sale price, is that a reason to expire the sale? Or to get credit for the deal?

Two options I guess, expire it or update to the new price,if lower than the original price and still on sale.if its back to original selling price than probably expire it,because its no longer a deal. Unless its a good deal even at cost. Lets see what thoughts others have on it.

Someone is going around expiring deals. Not cool. It used to show who expired deals in the past. That needs to come back.

There are a ton of new people on here and they do not know DP etiquette

I agree with xptrish.... but I only do this if I run across it in my deal hunting. I certainly don't make it my mission to fact-check everyone else's deals, that's just not cool. Just sayin....

I noticed on one particular day a good handful of my deals were expired. One okay... but more than 10 got me wondering are they doing it so that when the price does come back down are they "expiring" the deals simply for the credit?

like xptrish said if a deal is no longer at the price it was posted let say a box of candy from walmart was posted for 99 cents then 2 weeks later price went up to its regular price of $3.99 then the deal should be expired not updated to a higher price. now you dont have to expire the deal you can flag it and leave a comment for mods to expire it and if you was the original poster you should get credit when the deal is updated again you dont get credit for expiring a deal

If there is a price change...simply update the price.

@jkbane only if there is a price drop you should update you dont get credit for updating if the price goes up. the whole point is to save money

I agree, if there's a price change, I'd update the price. If it's no longer a decent deal, I'd think expire it
