Q: Fair? You Be The Judge

  • These 2 deals were posted 4 minutes apart, one, the "1st" has absolutely no details
  • http://dealspl.us/freebies/p_oscar-offer-mania-10-freebies-with-purhcase-amc-theatres┬áTHEIRS
  • The 2nd,mine,has ALL the details, including links to EACH offer for the entire month!
  • I think it unfair to expect me to expire mine when I went through the hard work and TIME to create a user friendly post.
  • DP has asked us to be thorough and add links.
  • If we get penalized for taking the time to do it only to have someone else who rushes to get the deal,an incomplete one at that, and have theirs get priority by "time" default then how does DP ever expect us to adhere to their guidelines?
  • Why would anyone bother to go through all the work for nothing?
  • Maybe an update on posting protocols should be made, that if another deal is more complete it WILL get priority.
  • Sounds fair to me,and to all of us who are doing what DP askes us to do as MM's

It obvoisly took me WAY MORE than the 4 minute difference in time to enter the coding and each deal, with date and other information!

Yours is clearly the better post. Can you not secure the deal with just the title/basics, then fill the details later? It does seem unfair to punish you for your time invested and a better looking deal, but it's probably more unfair to take it away from the person who posted it first. A lot of deals could simply be rewritten and taken away based on added details and/or presentation. I'm glad I'm just a spectator.

Yes,you can secure it by posting then adding,It was suggested by another user also,I guess I will have to start doing that, but I hate posting incomplete deals,it's just not "me" I guess when in Rome right? Thank You for your support.

#rd995 You should contact DP/Mods,I'm sure they would want to know plus if we keep quiet about important stuff it's never going to change for those of us who really want to post complete, accurate deals.

I know its unfair and it hurt to put in so much effort and then being asked to expire the deal. I have seen this happen so many times that now i just rush to get my deal post and thrn go back and make changes. Hope this doesnt happen again....

To be clear this has nothing to do with Front page,my gripe is that in general this happens all the time,I am not saying you don't post good deals,it's that you expected me to expire mine when you clearly knew it was a better post and that considering the time put into that I was working on it when you posted yours,it would have been a good jesture of faith and character on your part.
Also the fact that you are throwing around your User Name here and on other posts clearly is self serving.
P.S.95% of what I post is from my iPad,a littler harder at times, yes, but it can still be done.

Looks like the other one is gone now. Did mods eliminate it after you posted this?

Yours is the better post BY FAR and has a ton of info, so of course, I think you should be the one getting credit. You took the time to go into depth, include links, etc. You deserve credit.

Are you positive the other user didn't post the details and the mods/site didn't just not post them? I say this because there has been multiple occasions I put in a lot of time and details, submit the deal (says needs mod approval) then the deal posts without any details THEN I find someone else has posted the same deal AFTER me and I'm not getting the credit...

Whole thing is a sticky situation.

Absolutely, yours should have been the one to get the go-ahead. I get a lot of the "dupe deal" comments from him too, but never any other comments..... weird. Some people I guess are very proprietary over their stuff, no matter if it only took them 3 seconds to put in on here. It was obvious from the plusses that yours was the better deal. I'm sure the DP mods appreciate the time you always take to make sure you're following the rules and posting complete details on your deals. I know I do. :) Especially on an I-Pad, that's dedication!!!!
