Q: Favorite Aps
|
So I got a Samsung Galaxy s3 and like my last foray into a smart phone I am questioning the cost of a data plan to the uses provided by having a smart phone. Beyond text, phone and basic internet (which you can get on a non-smart phone), what do you use yours for? What Aps do you have and what are their functions? So far the only ones I've found that I'm enjoying that were not available on my previous phone are some games and Pandora. The games are fun, but often limited, Pandora is awesome. My iTunes library is just about useless now.

| I just got a Samsung Galaxy sii and got the iSyncr app so I can easily transfer pictures and some of my iTunes. It won't sync music from iTunes that have certain copyright protection, but it was smooth and I got most of my music and the pictures of my kids I wanted. |

I use my phone's GPS navigation whenever I have to drive somewhere I haven't been before, and Google Maps to find things like a Chinese restaurant when I'm traveling. My bank's app locates free ATMs for me, anywhere in the country. Whenever I'm shopping, I check prices on Amazon and other online retailers - and of course dealspl.us. I can view security cameras back home from my phone. I only pay $19.00/month plus taxes for unlimited voice/text/data with Republic Wireless, while my employer pays me a $100/month smartphone allowance, so it's a pretty sweet deal! |

I got a pretty good deal. I picked it up just before Christmas. They had it on for $199, but Walmart was offering a $100 gift card for certain smartphones. So basically $99. I still see them offered for $150, so even a couple months out I came out better than prices now. I'll look up MediaMonkey. My sim card easily holds my library. The external memory was really the selling point over the iPhone. I would have filled most of a 16g Iphone 4 up with songs. Seems like most use them mainly as toys as well. Some convenience like Yelp and navigation, but mostly things that you can find without having to pay for services for. I saw your post before it disappeared Acid, and it seems like you get a lot of work related use out of yours, I just don't see how it benefits me. I'm again questioning the cost vs. the benefit. Its kinda fun for a while, but really I don't see how they are worth it. May go back to basic phone at my next renewal. But I would miss Pandora... |

| Make sure you install the Amazon AppStore. They have a paid app for free daily. https://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html?ie=UTF8&docId=1000626391 |
