Does Amazon do the conversion automatically for you?

I believe that they charge you in £ and your credit card will do the conversion. It has been a long time since I have ordered from the co.uk site to the US, so I cannot be certain.

PS: If you are ordering video products, make sure that you will be able to play them.

Sounds like it could be quite expensive then if they charge a fee for the conversion rate. Thanks.

I'm not sure about amazon-uk, but my sister lives in Germany, and I've used Amazon.de on multiple occasions to send her gifts. It's cheaper than me buying something here and then shipping it to her. I don't know German, but the sites are similar, and I just run it through Google Translate if I question the details of what I'm getting. I've done this two years now without issue at Christmas and Birthday time.
I put in a U.S. credit card and it does the automatic conversion to Euros.

Hope that helps...

That's good info. Thanks. Was there a fee for the conversion or anything?

You can pay in pounds or dollars. There is a box on the final page which you can check to "Place Your Order in USD". I have read, though, that it is more expensive to use amazon's currency converter that your credit card company's.

Oh, so you place the order in pounds and then let the card do it without doing that at checkout?
