Q: How Do You Earn 5 stars?

Some people have 5 stars and have a really low rep and others with HIGHER (a lot higher) REP have 4 stars. How do we earn that 5th star?

don't think so.

Example: Acidbaby - rep = 5,940 - 5 stars.

You: rep = 25,561 reputation - 4 stars.

I think the rules have changed since Acidbaby got the 5 stars. Acidbaby has been on dealspl.us quite awhile.

yes dealwagger is right back then it was easy to get 5 stars , i been around since 2007 probably longer that's when they made everyone register. there is a number but only someone that reach 5 star recently knows or a mod might be able to tell us

I wonder the same thing! Could any one tell me, What is the exact criteria to earn 5th star? Does it matter with time we joined or is it up to the moderator?

There is no one single criteria. You earn levels by many, how long youve been here, front page deals, how many deals, and overall how active you are. A +5 is not given out easily and you will notice that most of us with a +5 hsve been here since the site opened. And people need to stop taking your rep score so seriously. Anyone can build their rep by spamming deals all day long every day. Youre goal here shouldnt be worrying about a rep score or how many plusses you have.

I think it's a psychological thing too, meaning that everyone likes when they're reputation goes up, it keeps them motivated. I'm saying that because I'm one of those people :)

It was easy to hit 4 stars. I think I hit 4 stars within the 6 months I was on this site. One day I'll get the 5th star.

@acidbaby,it's not a matter of us not " worrying about our rep and plusses" it's more,in my opinion,that the 5's get up front wether their deal is good or not,get a couple " friends" to plus it also and it's more visible and more likely to be clicked as opposed to a 4 with a good deal ending up on the bottom by default.
It's no secret that friends are plussing each others deals no matter what the post,I think we all are aware of that.
I believe the frustration stems from working hard to find REAL deals only to have them overshadowed due to unearned plusses.
To say reps and plusses don't matter is silly,the more plusses the more likely to be seen and clicked,which is where the money is.
That's all I have to say.

How does a +5 get you up front automatically? Nobody is getting on the front page automatically with a +5. Of course there is a cllique here that vote on each others posts. Like Ive said 1000 times. a negative rating system would alleviate all these issues. Then we can vote down deals that are garbage and being voted up by the clique.
