How are duplicated being handled?
I put this panda express coupon up 5 days ago:
http://dealspl.us/pandaexpress-coupons/p_free-firecracker-chicken-breast-e-coupon-for-panda-express
I just seen this deal hit the front page and was posted 2 hours ago:
http://dealspl.us/pandaexpress-coupons/209227
How come this deal hit the front page when its a copy of a deal I posted 5 days ago? How come I don't even have the option to flag it as a duplicate? I'm sure you guys could understand how this is upsetting and that many questions on the forum have to do with duplicates and frontpaged deals.

| under the coupon it says "gonnagettaviper shared 5 days ago", not 2 hours ago |

| Thanks. It can be a bit confusing as there is no timestamp on our end. atleast nothing that accurate. It was also confusing that the front paged deal shows it was posted 2 hours ago, but now I assume that it hit the front page 2 hours ago and was not posted 2 hours ago as once you click on the link it shows gonnagettaviper posted the deal 5 days ago. |

The system is not very consistent at notifying posters when a deal is a duplicate. I searched for mine before I posted and was surprised to see it had not already been posted. FYI, Dealsplus created the frontpage "deal", not me. It links to the Dealsplus Panda Express coupon page, where currently, my coupon post is the only nonexpired, nonduplicate deal. Sometimes I think this place is mystical. Who, other than the mods/admins, knows how it all works?! |

I've had an Arby's coupon that I submitted to the Coupons section show up on the front page under Deals before also. Sometimes the system selects them on its own, I can vouch for that. I'm not holding my breath for better duplication detection though. The system is poor enough at detecting 2 of the same item at the same (or mostly the same) URL both posted under "Deals." I'll be pleasantly surprised if it can get to a point where it verifies against the Coupon and the Deals databases before giving the green light to a new poster... |
