I have lots of family & friends who are vets & a nephew who is serving right now. We remember all vets & loved ones by visiting the graves that are close by. My husband puts flags on the vets graves every year. Then we have a cookout for all those who help. Lots of work but the memories are priceless.

My dad was in the army for 20 years. He was very proud of his service and happy with what the army did for him. He died two years ago and I miss him terribly.

I spent 4 years in the Air Force. Separated shortly after Gulf War 1. Sometimes I wish I had made a career out of it.

Not a vet but a Mom to one..Here's a shout out to my son Leo who did a 15 month tour in Iraq and made it home.(mostly unscathed)

@erick99..My sympathies to you,I can relate,lost my dad in 2001 but the sense of loss is and always will be there.

Thank you trish. I am sorry for your loss as well. You never get over losing someone you love but you can get to where you can make some peace with it. I hope that has been the case for you.
