Not on Thanksgiving but the day after maybe if it was a nice day out ....and I often think about people waiting in line for things. Some people wait for 10 hrs to get something that is saving them $100 which is $10 an hour which is not worth it depending on what type of work they do. Maybe if they work at a fast food restaurant for $7 an hr it might be worth it to wait in line. I would just put in more hours at my job instead of standing in line for a long time.

no way! totally not worth it unless you are in HS/college or dont have an office job. $20/hr is certainly an immaterial opportunity cost or as we say in banking, a rounding error.

Naw, I don't think so. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday so I have to say no, I wouldn't do it. Now would I do it for a child who's parent could not, I would do it in a heart beat and take NO money! Happy Thanksgiving.

I am doing this in Minnesota this year. Last year I waited outside of target for their main tv deal for 8 hours and it was -10 degrees out. This year I'm broke so put an ad on craigslist to wait in line for someone... I love black Friday even if I can't afford to buy anything. Might as well make some money! :]

exactly! all reasons are valid - I come from a "factory shift-work" family. It NEVER shuts down ("cept for power outages). We celebrate on Saturdays occasionally (like this year) - the DAY does not matter when you're with Family. ;)
