Q: Is the world getting stupider, or do people just not care?

I was reading a newspaper this morning, and it was the most poorly written piece of garbage I'd seen in awhile! Bad writing, bad topics ... it was just awful. If I'm going to read the paper, I'm looking for news! Do people just not care anymore about the finer things in life, like speaking properly and writing where people can read?

It's true! A lot of news these days is just space-filling nonsense. Especially hometown local papers, it seems. Do I really care that Ruth Jenkins had her daughter over for rhubarb pie on Saturday, or that Sue Masterson was promoted within Mary Kay? Where's the actual NEWS, people?!
