So, if you buy it now, does it automatically have to be AT & T service?

Right now, the iPhone is only available for AT&T, so yes, it would have to be with their service. I've never seen any "official" announcement from Verizon about the iPhone and I've definitely been looking for it. I'm also a Verizon customer, so I would love the iPhone. I'm guessing that it will happen soon though because Verizon recently got the iPad. Now we know that they're working with Apple, it should only be a matter of time :)

It looks almost a done deal - announcement should be coming in JAN after the ATT exclusive deal ends Dec 31, 2010.
