Q: Low-Watt Space Heaters

Hey All,

I usually trust the words of DP members and so I turn to you all for your opinions on what space heaters may be a good buy.

I'm looking for a low-watt (not power intensive) that doesn't make much noise and is preferably low profile. It gets cold in my office and I don't want to blow out the power by using a 1500 watt heater.

Thanks,
John

Holmes usually make nice space heaters. Look in Sears, they have a great variety.

Go with a quartz heater.

What might the lowest power I might find in heaters? I have only seen some 750-watt kinds.

@gangstabarbie I got a low profile Holmes one during the holidays, and even though it's low.. it's wide! And kind of loud too :-(

@Acidbaby Is there something specific about the quartz heaters you would recommend them for?

Maybe I'm looking for something that doesn't exist :-( It's like the consumer who wants the best quality sound speakers that are tiny and are completely wireless for less than $500...

I have this one at home:
http://www.amazon.com/DeLonghi-EW7707CB-Safeheat-ComforTemp-Oil-Filled/dp/B002PLQ4T8/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1359492414&sr=8-12&keywords=delonghi+space+heater

It works really well. No noise whatesoever, low profile, doesn't add much to my electric bill, and gets the room really hot.

@kffight3r I wouldn't quite put that in the low profile category with a 25" height but all the other specs are just about right. I'm going to keep this one in my amazon cart for a few days while I continue my search. And hopefully I can take advantage of the rebate. The cost of energy isn't really a problem here at work, just the requirement I don't blow out the electricity with all of our computers and server.
