Q: Make money here...

You need many computers with auto refreshing on the various deal sites, and as soon as a new deal comes up post it......

This site is broken and needs a fix.

limit the max number of deal per day per one user..... say 20.

then more people can get involved and the quality of this site can improve.

the way it is now....there will be no more growth for DP.

just saying......

The easiest way of making money on DealsPlus is to stop complaining, stop blaming everyone else for your problems and focus that time and energy into contributing to this site. If you want your MM payment to be higher at the end of every month there is a simple fix....work harder.

Exactly... there are people who need the money and should do the work here. You work hard, you find the best deals, you don't duplicate or post so -so deals, just to make a few clicks.
Then by all means... it's a great site. I agree though, ENCOREZ you should be able to make more comments and get paid more.

ENCOREZ - AMEN! There are a handful of people that somehow post every possible deal that is out there. It's turned me off from even posting deals anymore. Can't figure it out because they must not have a full time job - this must be their job.

It makes absolute no sense to limit what a user can do here on dealspl.us. We all have computers and we all know where to find the deals to post. No one really has an advantage over another except for MODS. Its basically fair game. You can invest in another computer or another monitor if you think they can help you post deals faster which makes completely no sense to me. If you bugs you so much, then you should step up to the challenge and post deals faster.

Yes it does make sense to limit what a user can post or how much. Because this site is cluttered with complete garbage submissions that are not deals. Anyone can sit behind their pc and copy deals all day from other sites which is fine. But how about at least weeding out the garbage and and least take the time to either credit the person who found the deal on the other site or change up the wording. Not copy and past the entire post. I believe one of the admins here stated a few months ago that users caught copying and pasting word for word from other sites may have their accounts terminated.

@ Acidbaby

I somewhat agree to what you say but not everyone has the deal knowledge you have. To some people, it may be a good deal to others it may not be a good deal. I agree that copying and pasting word for word is pretty bad, maybe MODS should take a look at copying and pasting deals since according to you it's not allowed here on dealspl.us.

it is funny how this is supposed to be of social site and yet most deals are posted buy a few that is not very social the other funny thing is that I don't know if I could be more open here you would understand that I really don't give I crap about the money I have a job and this is for fun but there are people here that do need the money and there's no reason that a greedy few should get all the money

Ditto. By no means do I need to do this for the income. Ive been here since the place opened. Back then I was active posting deals, well after a few months. My wife was registered here first and I didnt sign up until a few months later. I could care less about the money makers and donate all of mine to my charity "Pets For Patriots". Thats not to say people should try and make as much as they can if they need to. You need to do what you have to do but spamming the site with trashy deals isnt the way to do it. Go browse online stores and look for deals.

skyline: It make no sense to unreasonably limit the number of deals a person can post, but like Acidbaby said...many deals are 10% off...which is hardly a deal. And like Rez suggested, some people have more than a leg up.

I'm not really computer savvy, so I may be talking out of my butt here...but try this. Tanga updates daily at 9:00am with 6-8 new daily deals. Try to move as fast as you can and post JUST ONE of those to DS. By 9:01 EVERY SINGLE one of them are posted, usually by a single person. If you try to post and they go through at almost the same time, but before the computer can flag it, you will get a "duplicate deal" posting on your deal. Now tell me, how can a single person post 6-8 deals and check for dups all at the same time without an algorythm (sp?) they developed to do it for them? Same thing happens on several other sites daily.

I do ok here and am content with the little bit I drag away from here. But it would be nice if every penny off of a deal didn't make it a deal, and if 3 people didn't dominate the boards.

Last year I was able to post deals from many stores and was very active "deal sharing". but after a while everything I found and wanted to share was already posted. so I stopped searching for deals. now I rarely post deals because I can't really find one that's not already posted on the site, but I post the coupons that stores send on my email (or that others give me).

It sounds like you are saying that the return isn't worth the investment.
It's great if you can make some money posting things on this site, but if you aren't satisfied with the pay vs the work put in, find other ways to make supplemental income.

I'm not saying this site runs perfectly; it seems like it is hard for newcomers to get a foothold.

It will be hard for newbies to get a foothold because you basically have 3 people here who post 90%* of the deals directly from other websites regardless if they are good deals or not.

^ if people had to choose the best 20 deals...then this site wouldn't be flooded with so many average deals.....

also deals ownership should expire after a week....why does the first to post own that product?

Expiration is a beef for me. Same posters tend to not post explorations. I've almost not posted deals because I got I dup alert or because I saw the deal in a search, only to see that the post was from months, maybe over a year before. A few times it neither showed up in a post not did it flag as a dup, my deal went front page before they showed up and told me it was a dup. Suddenly mine is expired and his is front page when it had been dead for months.

I get maybe 50% of deals have expiration dates, but when they are made available in the deal, they should be posted. Posters should look over their old deals occasionally and expire their dead deals, not float perpetual deals.

This topic was discussed here many times over the 4 years I've been with DP. For some people DP is the only way to make money (job loss due to bad economy and other reasons). I have a full time job and cannot post deals every minute. Occasionally I find good deals online and then post it here. Or see great deals on SD or other deal sites and re-post them here. Some people are constantly re-posting deals from all other deal sites. This is what they do. And they do it all day long (even during night). You can argue with them but at the end nothing will change. Just let them be and do what you can. I personally post deals here on DP and also post deals on SD. Sometimes I repost deals from DP to SD site. Good deals have to be shared.
My only concern is that good deals are getting to front page here on SD MUCH SLOWER! I think SD has an advantage by promoting great deals to FP faster. But they have different structure of the business. Nat be they have better moderation? I dont know...
Another feature that would be great here on DP is to have an option to (+) or (-) deals.
I see that some posts have artificial thumb ups by friendly users for deals that are not even great. For example if I am friendly with one of the posters I thumb up their deals REGARDLESS of deal hotness. Basically I am helping them to get higher rep and promote their deals to FP.
Anyway, too many words for 1 post :)
Just stay true to DP, post good findings, keep it clean, make few extra $$ and be happy.
