Q: My current systems specs vs. new desired system under $1000. Help needed!

Hi gang,

I am trying to build new system (gaming) and want to get all the goodies under $1000.

For GPU I chose EVGA GTX670 card,
CPU is still a big ? mark...

I was looking at Corei7 3770 3.4 Ghz for $400. but it will take me over $1000 I am planning to spend.
Anybody knows about Intel i5 processors that can be as fast as i7 for the buck?

Or perhaps you can recommend a set up (intel) that can be under $1000 and be a decent gaming system?

BTW here is what I have now. May be I should overclock my GPU and CPU and it will be enough for another few years?

My system (I build it 4 years ago)

CPU - Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 @ 3.00Ghz.
Motherboard - EVGA 780SLi
GPU - EVGA GTX 470
RAM - 8GM
2 Hard Drives - 1TB 7200RPM + 128GB SSD Drive

Nothing overclocked yet. I've heard that my CPU can be overclocked and it performs great. Same for GPU.

What do you think?
