Q: Netflex Monthly?? Do you use?

I am thinking about subscribing to the Netflix monthly service by hooking up the blue ray to the tv, and point click download and watch a movie LOL my x=hubby has it and says its the best thing since bread. Do any of you all have it? is it worth it? Seems like it would be. and WHO has the best deal for a new customer??? LOL

I have watched a couple movies on it. I signed up for the free month. The quality of the video and the ease of using it works nice. Only had it 2 weeks so far no problems here.

@akaricke (love your name) thanks for the heads up. I love to watch movies and buy a ton of DVD's, and love old movies too and am thinking between this and Amazon (I have downloaded and rented new movies from there too) Would be perfect for me for the weekends, when i sit with my laptop and veg with a movie and post deals :) thanks for the insight!

i have netflix stream, there are some really good movies on there and alot of bad low budget ones too but if you want the latest movies out. that won't happen on netflix stream. They do occasionally put out some recent movies from 2010. latest is Toy story 3 and the sourcers apprentice and easy A. i do recommended if you like japanese anime, cartoon for the kids (disney pixar,dora, barney, and whatever kids watch these days) and tv shows because there is alot. Stream speed is great, quality of videos are great.everything is well categories. video reommendations fixed to what you watch. Dvd service is great too, comes very fast. Try the free trial and see how you like it.

I love, love, love the streaming Netflix! But, I think a lot of it depends on your movie tastes. I've been watching tv series I originally missed -- It also does have many of my favorite movies availible for streaming (but I prefer independent and foreign movies). If you want to watch the new release blockbusters via streaming, it may not be best for you (although you can still order many of those through the mail service). Give it a try!

It makes a big difference what device you use to watch with. On a computer or game console, you can browse the available selection right on it. I didn't know when I suggested a Netflix-capable blu-ray player to my niece that it didn't work the same way. On the Samsung player she got, she cannot browse titles at all. She has to log in to her Netflix account on her computer and add her selections to her streaming queue. Only then will they become available on the blu-ray. I don't know if other blu-ray players allow browsing, but this one is a total P.I.T.A.

we have netflix instant streaming on our wii and i LOVE it! not every single movie is available, but there's more than enough to keep you entertained while you wait for whatever it is you want in the mail.

I subscribe to the three movies at a time package. I always have three movies around the house for when i'm bored, and their movies i've picked, so I know I will eventually watch them. I stream through my xbox, playstation (when working) and even have my computer hooked up to the tv for when i use it on there or hulu. Lately, I've been doing more streaming then watching dvds. I've streamed whole TV series such as 3rd rock from the sun, that 70's show, shinchan, family guy. Late at night when I can sleep, i'll stream some cheesy movie I think could be interesting, but probably isn't. I even have been streaming the national geographic shows lately. The one on North Korea was very interesting.
Hope this help. I really do like it, and if your sharing the bill with someone at home, it isn't too bad.

ok WELL you all have convinced me! I cancelled by cable because it was costing almost a 100/month for what? ESPN, Discovery Channel, Lifetime (well i can almost not live without this channel!) anyway, if I can stream shows like that and utilize my PC (since my son hooked up the tv to the computer) Then who needs cable??? LOL I am going for it! thank you all for your input and help in making a easy decision for me!

Four months ago I ditched Direct TV satellite because I too was paying $100 a month. I bought a Roku box and although it was an adjustment having fewer channels I'm happy I did it. I love Netflix and both my instant watch and DVD shipping queues are full. Both hold 500 choices. I was able to fill them with things I wanted to see very quickly. I can find almost every thing I want to see online and if I can't find it myself I go to Twitter and search and sure enough, someone is always hosting a watch party for the show I'm looking for. They will post a link and invite people to come watch their broadcast of whatever the show is, usually hosting on Justin.TV. It's like watching TV with a group of commenting friends. Really fun if you're watching a Bravo show!
