Q: On Amazon, Not all Products Reviews are Legit

I always read the reviews before buying products that I have never tried before. I take in mind that I may not agree, but realize that sometimes they are extremely useful in helping me avoid a buying mistake. Amazon customer reviews were always something I paid attention to devouring the pros and cons before a purchase.

Then I came across a work from home program called "MicroWorkers" and discovered that many of the little micro jobs that people are paid to do are from Amazon sellers that request them to go to their item listing and write a positive review. So... it leads me to ask how many of the reviews are really customer reviews????

I too use Amazon reviews before buying products. A helpful hint is looking for that "Amazon Verified Purchase" under the reviewers name. Those reviews are from people who actually bought the item, and less likely to be a paid reviewer.

Good idea. I should have mentioned that. I don't think everyone knows to do that.

Great idea Retrex. I've never noticed the reference before. Thanks for the heads up.

I have always used Amazon reviews too. I realized I shouldn't have put so much weight on them when I purchased some supplements that were 5-starred and had a lot of positive reviews only to get it and it looked like it was from a cheap back end shop. Not worth the $40 I wasted:/

It's good you are sharing this with everyone. It's very helpful information:)

The "Amazon Verified Purchase" does not mean that the reviewer had bought the product being reviewed. The reviewer could have bought other cheaper stuff, eg. audio song and that makes him/her "verified". Another thing to keep in mind when reviewing product reviews.
