Q: Posting as a "Coupon" vs a "Deal."
|
I'm a little confused when each posting should be used. For the most part, I just post as a "Deal" unless there is a printable coupon...then I would post as a coupon. But I've seen some posters post what I would call a deal, as a coupon. Like maybe it comes with a 30% off code for online. Is that a "deal" or a "coupon"? Thanks in advance for any input or attempts at clarification.

I don't know what the rules are, but if it's very time sensitive, I would consider posting it as a deal. If you have a 35% OFF department store code or pass for today or tomorrow only, it may just get buried if you put it in the coupon section. Also, you may consider what type of store it is. If it's a pizza joint, and the code is good all month, then proabably put it the coupon section. I do wonder if there are specific rules or if we should just use our best judgement or even post in both places. Hopefully, someone can tell us for sure. |

I recently received this from Dealspl.us We appreciate your participation on dealspl.us, however we want to remind you that we would like to keep printable coupons in the coupon section of dealspl.us (not the deal section). The only one exception to this is for stores that do not allow users to post coupons on the the coupon page. HOPE THAT HELPS YOU OUT . |

All good input. I don't think there is a good understanding site wide of when to post in which. I recently saw a duplicate posting in both by 2 different people, and both were big name posters. I thought to myself I said: "SELF! If these peeps don't know I don't stand a chance of understanding it". I pay better attention to my self talk when I start by getting my attention with "SELF!" |

@xptrish, thank you that clears up a lot! When I have a specific deal that goes with a coupon, such as an item that turns out to be a great deal with the use of a printable coupon, I put it in deals. I have been posting just regular printable manufacturer's coupons in "deals." Then store coupon codes I or sales discounts with no specific deal idea in mind I stick in "coupons." Does that seem right to anyone? nthsll, lol about the SELF! talk :) |
