Q: Reminder: Deals meaning- a drop in the price, a promo code, a buy one get one free deal...

Posting deals means to post something of:

A PRICE DROP,
A SALE EVENT,
A PROMO CODE,
A COUPON,
A BUY ONE GET ONE FREE DEAL,
EITHER 10%, 25%, 50%, 75% OFF,
FREE ITEMS, PROMOTION, ETC.
CLEARANCE ITEMS,
TICKET DEALS,
WEEKLY ADS,
INTERESTING FINDS

PLEASE TRY AND LIMIT YOUR POSTING TO THESE CATEGORIES.
I've been noticing posts that are just items from the store. No particular deal, or sale,
or anything that I had mentioned...
PLEASE TRY TO LOOK FOR SALES, ONLY... NOT TO CLOG UP WITH USELESS PRODUCTS
THAT ARE NOT ON SALE OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT. NOT EVEN A PROMO CODE.

THANKS!

A thumbs down?
I'm tired of those who just think it's ok to post any random deal that they see on Amazon.

Great advice!
That irks me to no end seeing these postings while my and other real deals get lost because of them!
Posting DEALS is what DP is all about.
Maybe if the "offenders" start getting "reminders" and warnings they'll actually start looking for deals as is outlined above.

It looks like a Coupon Code can be posted in either coupons or deals. Right?

it would be nice to have a "Sale" sub-category for each section so that "News" isn't clogged with "news of the sales" ;)

Oh, and i LOVE the new feature when "flagging" deals one must comment! yeah! Thank you! ;)

Youre fighting a losing battle man. Ive been saying this since this money makers thing started. People dont care if its a sale or retail price. Its all about posting as much as you can to make money. Take a look at the front page of deals, the "hot deals". Now sort deals by plusses, how many of those top plussed deals are on the front page? Mods need to keep their hands off the deals and let the community decide what is hot and what is not. If they want a special page for their friends deals or for deals they think are great then simply add a new page called Mods choices or something. This site is going like the US government, the users are losing more and more control day by day.

what strikes me the most are the deals that come on front page and you go on Amazon and it's the same price on a normal daily basis. I think the mods should regulate the front page a little more closely.

I agree with u, but in reality, policing the site is the mods job. They can do a much better job deleting posts that aren't even deals.

If someone posted crappy deals often and they were continually deleted, I don't think they'd continue to post them.

All we can do is if you see a post and you're able to find a better price, post the link to their deal, telling them it's not the best price.

Additionally, like @Acidbaby said, the site would be much better if the mods didn't control what deals do/don't make FP.

But, even like you said, if you find the same thing- same deal from a different site, you can post them. From all four different sites.
How much do you go on?
When is it enough? Shouldn't the mods do the price grabbing?

People have preferences of some stores over others. So if Best Buy, Amazon and Fry's all have the same deal at the same price, I think they can all be posted, as long as it's an actual deal.
