Q: Research?

How much research do you put into purchasing a product? I usually like to look up user reviews and YouTube review videos.

one I dont buy garbage so reviews really dont mean much to me. Im 41 years old, I think maybe twice in my life ive made a purchase i regret. Know your products, know your manufacturers and you'll be fine.

I don't care for youtube reviews much.

For electronics, I usually take into account Newegg reviews. For some items, Amazon reviews. And for more specialty items, I try to find blogs or magazines that specialize in evaluating that product (like higher end audio gear). Many products I go based on brand, you usually get what you pay for is largely true.

Just remember this:

depends on what i'm purchasing..but i'll tend to look up reviews and price comparisons before purchasing bigger items.

I also refer to online reviews on Amazon & Newegg whenever available, even for something cheap. Sometimes there's a very good reason why they practically can't give an item away, making it not even worth a few bucks. I also use professional review sites, like steves-digicams.com, when I'm looking for a camera. I generally can't stand youtube or other user-submitted video reviews. They're almost universally long-winded, rambling, and just not to the point. Umm, well at least this is to the point!
