I work for the safeway company. and ususally its an item from the service deli. Like whole roasted chicken, pizza, 8 piece fried chicken, large sub sandwich, deli cut ham or turkey, ribs, pulled pork etc. They are good deals!!

Yeah theres lots of weekly specials and coupons that vary from fresh meats to over the counter medicines

Is safeway the same thing as vons/pavillion??? or does this deal only work at the actual safeway?

I don't know what vons/pavillion is but the Safeways here are just regular grocery stores.

If i remember correctly, when i go to Vons, their generic stuff is Safeway brand. I was wondering if it was the same thing, like how Ralphs and Kroger are pretty much the same thing with different names depending on area you live in.

Yes Vons, Safeway, Pavilions, Tom Thumb, Randalls, Carr's and Dominicks, are all the same.

Tom Thumb, and Randalls are in Texas. Carr's is in Alaska and Dominicks is in Chicago

My favorite is the Rotisserie chicken and turkey.The fried chicken I found gross. You could tell they did not clean it and there was a lot of gross brown stuff in the chicken. I tried it twice and twice I experienced the same results. With that said, I love $5 Fridays. Safeway's is my favorite grocery store and I usually go there daily just to be going.
