Q: Secret Santa (cont'd part 2)
|
UPDATE 11/20/12 Since jkbane and TOTOOO didn't RSVP as of this morning, I went ahead and matched people up. This means anyone who already RSVP'd are included and should now have someone to gift too. If you have not done so, please include a brief "wish list" that includes a little blurb about you, what you might like, and what you definitely wouldn't like. The price range will remain at $15-$25 since there haven't been objections from people who RSVP'd. In an effort to have the gift delivered in a timely manner, please make sure it's shipped by 12/10 WITH a tracking number! Please feel free to PM me any questions or leave a comment below. I'll get back to you pretty fast! **Also message your gifter your mailing address so you can get your gift! (This option can be found at the event page, in a table full of options on the right.) ====================================== Today's the last day to sign up for our unofficial dealspl.us Secret Santa event! I've made the event on www.secretsanta.com and sent out invites to all who already sent me their email addresses. (This includes the following members: dealwagger, TOTOOO, nimase85, catchersmom, kffight3r, munkin2u, jkbane, VirginiaPeanuts, AcidBaby, Florida2Texas, poe601) If you are listed and did NOT receive an email from the site, please check your spam folder. If it's still not there, please let me know! I plan on matching people up tomorrow night so if you still want in, now's your chance. Email me your dealspl.us username at ruthlee31@yahoo.com and remember, this is going to require sensitive information like your address so if you're not comfortable with that, please don't join! The logistics are still up in the air right now but I did put in that the gifts need to be within the range of $15-$25 in value (not counting shipping costs). Of course I'm sure your giftee wouldn't mind a gift worth more than that but the minimum is strict. I'm very open to suggestions as well. Once tomorrow night rolls around, we'll set more things in stone but for now just RSVP! *Also include a little blurb in the "Wish List" section if you want something specific or want your Secret Santa to have a better idea of what to get you. This Wish List will only be seen by your Secret Santa once everyone is matched up. I'll be posting updates on the logistics and the event in general on THIS ask and share page to avoid a lot of clutter on dealspl.us so definitely check up on this every now and then! I'm super excited! jkbane, TOTOOO - I'm waiting on you two to RSVP before matching people up! |

| I think it would be good to know the gender and the age group for each participant so that we can plan the gift accordingly. |

| Also just wondering how we would mail a gift without putting a return address on it? I have never tried that before. Will they let you do that at the post office? What if the gift is lost in the mail during holiday time and has no where to come back to? |

I think the gender/age group description could be a good idea, especially since you already know who you're buying for - the mystery's only behind who's getting the gift FOR you. :) I think that description could just be up to the giftee too though. I definitely think you should put a return address on it. Does that affect anything though? If you're OK with sharing your address in the first place with your Secret Santa, I could only assume you're OK with sharing it with the person you're gifting to. |

| I dont mind sharing my address but then it defeats the whole purpose of it being a secret. We all kinda know what area each one of us is from. It mentioned on our profile and has come up several times on post discussions. I will definitely know who sent me the gift if i know where it is coming from. :)....specially since only a handful of people are participating. |

| At my work the way we play is that once all the gifts have been delivered secretly we meetup and play a guessing game to see if we rightly guessed our secret santa. If this game is only secret till the gift is actually received then offcourse it doesnt matter. I just had a different understanding. This works too. |

| This might be a dumb question...but when/how do we buy and send the gifts. I already have some ideas but how do i know where to send them? |
