Q: So Annoyed - Car Dealership Rant

I bought a Hyundai Sonata last year.
The day I bought it, the car strayed to the right when I let go of the steering wheel.
I called the service and they told me, w/o looking at the car, that the car was made that way.  That the grooves on the road makes the car sway to right sometimes.  You dont have to bring it in.
I brought it to another dealer Hyundai several weeks later, they said the same thing.  There's nothing wrong, its just the drive-by-wire system doing that, nothing to worry about, again didn't test drive it.
I brought it in again today because and asked them to actually drive it.
They said, yeah your alignment is off but you need to pay $70 because the warranty period for alignment is over.  >:O

How frustrating! I wonder if it would help to talk to the dealership you originally talked to and insist on talking to a supervisor/manager. It's worth a try.

It doesnt matter, they arent going to do anything about it. The problem lies in one line in that post. They didnt look at it, make them look at it when you call your speaking to a glorified secretart who knows nothing about fixing a car. They know how to order parts and thats about it. Nobody can diagnose a pronlem with a car these days without seeing it, or getting hands on let alone a counter person. You need to drive to the dealership and say take this and drive it. I had winter tires put on my car a few weeks ago. Car was shaking like hell took it back to the tire dealer and the sales guy at the counter was like well its probably the snow packed in your rim. I wanted to slap the stupid out of this guy as I noticed there was no wheel weight on the rim. Hes like well maybe its perfectly balanced which again I just wanted to tell him how dumb he was. Eventually I got a serviceman out there, he realized the weight was broke off and threw the tire out of balance, fixed in about 15 minutes and I was on my way. You need to stand up for what you believe is right and demand they fix the problem. This goes for anything you buy. People need to stop screwing themselves over.
