Q: So do you think on-line Freebies are really free or just a scam and waste of time?

Many people feel that there is no such thing as a freebie.  Its going to cost you some way or another because you can't get something for nothing. This is true for the most part but I for one believe there are alot of free stuff on-line and it will only cost you some time. Sometimes you have to be a little creative and always try to use a disposable email address. Make sure the sites you visit are legit and definitely have anti-virus/spam blockers on.
The other question is do we need all those free stuff? Well, if you don't need it, someone can always use it. I bring all my magazines and most of my freebies to the local community center. They look forward to the stuff and the magazines and it doesn't cost them a penny.

Here's some recent magazines and stuff I've gotten and so much more I've given away that I couldn't show.

This is nothing compared to what i saw posted by a blogger. Her weekly freebie stash is enormous.

Im not really into the freebies unless its something I can really use. Such as that skoal hamburger speaker which my son loves using to listen to his ipod in bed.
I dont do magazines anymore because its just a pain to get rid of them. I used to drop them off at the local womens shelter but I just dont have the time to do it anymore. I think the only mags I still have coming for free is Esquire and Better Homes.

I use one email address specially just for freebies. And I use one created date of birth as well, so I don't have to worry about scam :)

The companies that give away product are not charities. At the least they would like the opportunity to show you other products in the future via email at the least. That seems fair if the freebie is of sufficient value to you. Some freebie offers offers have such a long survey that I get suspicious and opt out of those. You can always use a separate email account for those and perhaps for others.

I know some of the freebies are fakes but I do get a good portion of them but i am always sure to give a junk email address and the google voice number attached so I don't get stuck with spam and I also don't give my whole name just my first initial and last name so if they want to send me fake bills or whatever I will know for sure it's not real or at the very least they will have too search for my first name

i use a dedicated email address for these freebies which id different from my main email address. That way I don't get into the issue of receiving spams.

But sometimes you have to do all those confirmation things... Or do you mean you just use an alternate email solely for the purpose of freebies?

(Btw never had canned Spam)
