Q: To those of you in the Path of Tropical Storm/Hurricane Issac

I'm along the Gulf Coast of Alabama - so am keeping a close eye on Tropical Storm/Hurricane Issac, as I am sure many of you are.  Just wanted to drop in a quick note to any of you that may be in this beast's path - please, be safe.  Take necessary precautions and know that you are in all of our thoughts and prayers.
    Many of you have become like family to me on here and any time something like this comes rolling in I worry about everyone being safe! Check in when you can - give us reports on what it is like in your area and most of all - let us know that you are okay.

::HUGS::

Encorez- we had so much rain since I got down to FL, and now it's hurricane season. Fibro Mom- well, my previous apartment had hurricane shutters, the place I'm in now- doesn't really have that on the windows.
But, I think I will be ok... with Gd's help.
Depending on the wifi here... I will keep everyone posted!

MdavidK30 - They are saying on the TV that people in Miami and Dade have already lost power (5:30 am CST) - Looks like it has shifted to the West - puts us dead center at this point. :( This is thing is BIG and Scarey! Stay safe.

encorez - If I could send you the rain, I would - but not the terrible winds!

Not sure where they got their info from... maybe in the Key's they lost power... but thankfully, we still have power here in Miami.

A lot of times the news media loves to hype things up more than what it seems to be.
Of course, I did take a trip to the Ft Lauderdale airport, and it was pouring and strong winds along the highway, and as I drove over the bridge, I glanced at the waves- and they were pretty choppy!
Also, the fog was intense too at times.
Now, however- it's gotten much worse- we just have to wait it out and see what happens.

We got an automated call last nights and schools are closed Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and they will let us know from there... Seems like an overkill to me since the weather is find Today (Monday) - but since they are trying to order evacuations of low-line areas I guess they felt they were doing their best to keep everyone safe... now - what to do with the kids?!? ;)

It was crazy yesterday (Sunday) - 4 Gas stations until I could find "1" that had gas and they had jacked it up almost $0.35 per gallon since Friday! :( Walmart was a Nightmare! But I think we are ready... now comes the family that has to stay with us because our house is safer and we have a generator. ::SIGH::

I could imagine... they're saying it's going to get worse in the New Orleans area.
