I know this is one of the overrated holidays, but just out of curiosity, how many of you still celebrate it?

It really gets rediculous that there are so many holidays out there that force you to spend money, lets see....first you have Christmas, then valentines day, easter, st. patricks day, mothers day, fathers day, grandmothers day, labor day, memorial day, 4th of july, and on and on and on. I think if we didn't have so many holidays we all might have money left to put in our savings accounts!! :)

I didn't even mention all the birthdays and anniversaries and halloween and Thanksgiving dinner we all have to spend money on. I don't want to sound like a scruge but when you add it all up, it comes out to a lot of money each year. Just imagine if everyone stopped buying anything for all of these holidays, the economy would collapse!

I love Valentines Day - I am a romantic at heart :) I tend to go a bit overboard.

I get into it for the crafting and kitchen treat projects...low or no cost, and it's simply the thought that counts:)

Thank you Eric, I actually get pampered on Valentines Day. Flowers are usually enough for me.

I think it is over rated, but I still do it...usually more than I should partially because I am a romantic and partly because it is a no win proposition for a guy to take a hard line on it. What woman doesn't like the attention and the flowers. And if we don't deliver on this day we look like an uncaring schmuck. ;-)

I think you can still do things that don't cost anything that will show a person that you care about them :)

Hey cozying up the bed and burning a stick of incense isn't too crazy, or pricey... as long as you take "preventive measures" LOL

I loved when I was kid making our little valentine boxes to hang on our desks and passing out valentines. Now at my daughters school they dont celebrate holidays since they dont want to offend anyone. Personally I think its terrible to take that away from them. I also see the other side of the argument that if they celebrate one holiday why dont they celebrate Yom Kippur, Chinese New Year's, Cinco de Mayo, and so forth.

Valentine's Day is nice but my boyfriend and I don't really celebrate it considering we go out a lot throughout the year anyway and it is just such a hassel when having to wait for long amounts of time just to get seated in a resturant and stuff like that. However, it is nice to get a bear and a card =) lol and plus kids LOVE it. Gives them a chance to send out little Valentine's day cards or a chance to tell their crush they like them. Its super cute =) lol
