Here's a neat little video I happened upon,it shows you how to install a rain barrel. Using a rain barrel is a great way to reduce outdoor treated water use, conserve resources, and save on your water bills. ! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AlZuXPmKVwY&feature=g-all-u Do you have any good water or energy saving tips to pass on ? Thank you and enjoy!

A great video and a great idea. I don't know if it would work in my tiny townhouse backyard but it might work for my girlfriend so I will pass it along to her.

Water in PA is pretty cheap so I dont usually stress over the water bill. Electric however, I did upgrade to front loaders to save on electric, as well as every light has a CFL bulb. Oh and I put up a clothesline for the wife. I prefer my clothes hung to dry anyway so it was a no brainer.

water here is $3 per 1000 gal. So if you don't water your lawn it is OK.......

I rent my townhouse and this particular development does not allow hanging clothes out to dry. I do it anyway but not that often. Clothes that hang out to dry have a very fresh scent to them that I enjoy. I especially like to hang up sheets to dry outside.

not water related but energy conserving tip change all your windows curtains to dark colors or put tinted windows the darker the better to keep the house cooler if you have an ac it will run less often if you have it set automatic
