Q: We are looking for a cell phone plan for our family of 2 adults and 2 teenagers. Up until now we've only had tracphones.

Tracphones are becoming a nuisance and the service is horrendous!  We have a limited budget and do not need  data info on our phones, just minutes and texting.  Is there anything out there that would be around $50-$60 a month for all 4 of us? We live in Eau Claire, WI and would think most service plans  would work in our city. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Sorry theres no way you are going to get 4 phones for that price. Liek the absolute cheapest youll be able to swing is Tmobile 4 lines with 1000 minutes and unlimited texting which will run you $90 plus all the taxes and surcharges it will end up over $100 a month.

AT&T.... pay $100 down on each phone, and be good for one year at 10cents a minute for the remainder of the balance...( gophone )

so that would be say $400 plus $200 for cell phones, so about $50 a month for 4 phones with 1000 minutes each and add more if needed...

i will say if you are paying($50-$60) for 4 lines stay with it cause there is no plan that can beat that price unless you go with what encorez suggested and pay down and save in the long run

I am thinking of going back to Virgin Mobile. They have a good price for unlimited everything, a good selection of phones, great customer service, and they are owned by Sprint. I've been on a Sprint Postpaid plan for about four years and it's just gotten too expensive.

Thanks to those who answered my original post. We pretty much knew that $50-$60/month would be untouchable. Just never know when someone knows of a special offer out there! Would it be feasible to find something for the 4 of us for around $100/month total? (Realizing the initial cost of phones would be extra)

I have been thinking of getting a Tracphone so I am curious about how they are becoming a nuisance? I would appreciate the info, thanks! :)
