what is the problem? if it is a good deal then more than one is OK, this site gets payed per hits, so a few x-tra listings isn't going to hurt anything.

The deal posters get paid for the hits/views on their deals, so if someone posts a duplicate it is stealing money from the original poster.

Keep in mind though that not everyone is on here 24/7 so if they post a duplicate they may not even know.

On a side note, if someone posts a duplicate of your deal, please don't totally loose it. Most of the time, it's an honest mistake.

Situations do arise that the duplicate winds up front page. The clicks different is pretty high then.
Actually I had that happen to me today with the Entertainment Book deal. According to the time posted, I listed my deal first. . Then this morning I notice the duplicate on FP w/ 40+ score. Its frustrating, but does happen occasionally.

Duplicate deals also make the site more cluttered & can be annoying when browsing

Like the others said, sometimes it's accidental. The correct thing to do is expire yours & flag it as a duplicate.

@encorez its more the idea that counts. We all can live without those 3 cents you get from the deals, but its the fact that they in a way stole those cents from you. Anddd... @mht962 does make a good point. They might not now they made a duplicate deal, and what if it was an accident? I would send the person a kind message just explaining the situation. Most of you guys on dealspl.us seem nice and people I could trust, so I wouldn't be scared to do that.

Agreed, xptrish. Now, forgive my ignorance, but how exactly do you expire your duplicate deal?

Click on your deal and on the right hand side you will see options to flag, also there is the EDIT,you can go in there and where the expiring date goes the drop down menu will have EXPIRED,click on that and it will immediately expire your deal(although I think the link is still active, but most people wont bother to click thru)
