I don't even know what to think of if about this my mind's in the gutter. :/

I like mine cooked medium-well done. Red freaks me out :x
I could never eat my meat tartar (that's what it's called right? the appetizer that's like sashimi except with red meat?)

Not burnt, but not a trace of pink left is how I like it. In other words, never grilled.

I used to not like the red in my meat, but its a lot better than you think. The black on the burnt meat is carbon. Carbon is disgusting. Seriously though, just try a medium steak sometime. I tried it once and was a very medium well no pink loyal steak kinda guy, but now all I get is medium.

Mastro's, BOA, Nick & Stefs, Lawry's, City Club all cook their top of the line bone-in filet mignon medium at the most because otherwise it looses flavor. I do medium rare and find it to taste best with premium quality meat.

@dealinator: I have tried less than well done beef (steak, roast beef, burgers) on a number of occasions over the years, sometime inadvertently (looked done outside or in a dimly lit restaurant), and sometimes because it was either that or nothing where I happened to be at the time, and to this day I really can't stand anything less that 100% well done. If there's only a slight trace of pink, I can hold my breath and not chew it too much and swallow it quickly like taking some awful medicine. It's definitely not enjoyable for me. Anything more than a slight trace of pink and I literally gag from the taste and texture of it.

I understand that I'm in the small minority on this matter, but it always baffles me that most people prefer under-cooked beef while they would never accept any other meat that way.

fluffy, did you know there are parrots that eat sheep? lol Well I like my meat either so cooked it's almost cripsy on the edges or a nice medium rare, heavy on the blood. It just depends on the cut. Prime rib has to be a little bloody or what's the point? lol...
@encorez, I finally got the gutter thing haha.

"burnt" makes me a bit nauseous. I like meat to have a slight pink but not so pink that there is red juice running.

@dealwagger: I thought your "parrots that eat sheep" link was going to lead me to some kind of joke or something! Being a bit suspicious of the article from 1882, I did a little googling for something more current on the topic and found this, complete with a picture of a victim sheep:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kea

Looks like part parrot, part hawk! It even eats other BIRDS!

When you cook the blood out, you cook the flavor out. Gimme medium...maybe even medium rare.
