Q: Would you answer a survey if you were given $1 for it?

I've gotten this mailer twice already from J.D Power and Associates which included a free gift of $1. I normally don't open mails like this and they go straight to trash as I consider them spam but one time I was just in the mood to open and read everything including obvious spam mails that I found out that the free gift is a real $1 bill. And all they ask you is to answer the survey online or by mailing back the form. Whether you answer the survey or not, the dollar bill is yours to keep. But if you answer the survey, you'll also be included in a sweepstake drawing. I don't usually answer surveys like this but i'm given a dollar already and i felt guilty just keeping it, so maybe i can take a few minutes to answer the survey online.

Anyone else got this kind of mailer? Did you or did you not answer the survey?

No I never got something like this! I personally wouldn't do it. The main reason is because you will probably receive tons of spam mail after being entered into that sweepstakes

You really would feel guilty? They actually stated it is yours to keep regardless so keep it and don't give out personal info. I was about to say also to maybe fake the info, but you would probably end up feeling worse :-P

i used to do that to pass time. in a five year span, i made about $80.00. Really not worth it to me. yes you do get money for taking these surveys, but sometimes you can sit there for 5 mins or so filling out the questionnaire, and it will come back and say, "i'm sorry, but you don't qualify for this survey", and if you do complete a survey you get a small amount of points which can be turned in for cash, but the catch is you have to collect 1,000 points for $10.00....takes forever~

I once received a $10 bill in the mail for a survey, which I had forgotten about taking, lol I used to do surveys all the time,id you can get into Pinecone they pay minimum of $3 each and money can go straight to paypal (or check if you want)
Over the years I've made qyuite a bit, including free products, money incentives, gift cards and Amazon credits.
Some suvey sites have surveys that are way too long and offer some lame "point system" those are the ones I stay away from. Well actually I've hardly done any in a very long time.

oh yeah, I received a real nickel in the mail, showing through a circular window in the envelope 2 days ago from our local emergency system, they were looking for a donation, lol
Maybe if they saved all those nickels they sent?...lol
My son got the nickel for his bank (he thought it was the greatest thing,(he's 6) and I ALWAYS give and donate when they have their collections around town (for those who think I dont support our local community service providers)

hmm i looked at the paper form and its so long i decided to just not do the survey. and i realized after reading your comments that i shouldn't really feel guilty, plus its make sense that if i answer their survey they might send me more spam in the future and i dont want that. So i just threw away the letter and gave the dollar bill to my son :)

I am not for that money. But I love taking a survey. So I will definitely accept it.

Maybe for a bit more... but, I think when they tell you they will add you to their sweepstake, it's just a excuse to keep your information.

I like doing product testing the most,HP is good,I got to test a new printer and give feedback on it, I was allowed to not only keep the printer but was given a $300 incentive! Conversely I have also in the past done product tests for Lexmark and Microsoft, each of which are very generous with their incentives as well.

In the time it takes to take a dump at work, I've already made far more than this. However, if you're trailor trash in some pissant backwater, this may seem lucrative.
