Many McDonald’s give kids FREE Happy Meals for their birthdays. You will definitely need to check your local McDonald’s in advance as there are many franchised locations and they may not participate in this promotion. It also appears that most have a form that you have to fill out in advance for the kids to get the FREE Happy “Birthday” Meal!

From McDonalds: “85 percent of McDonald’s restaurants are owned and operated by independent franchisees. Therefore, participation in a birthday club program would be a decision made by the management of each restaurant.”

If nothing else, you can take the kid to McDonald’s on his or her birthday to play at PlayLand for FREE!

My good friend recently had her sons birthday party at McDonalds and that location offered no free anything for his birthday. She brought at least 15 kids and the birthday boy and they couldn't even give him a free burger, fry and drink, I thought the birthday kid always got free meal, but not the case anymore..He didn't even get a Happy Birthday from the staff, it was something else I say..

I never knew that! We always ask if they offer anything for birthdays at Famous Daves and they always give us a free dessert (those are huge!)
