6 Easy Steps for Using Pinterest With DealsPlus (Google Chrome Edition)

310
As the MMs will have noticed, the Pinterest sharing button is no longer available for their use.  The reasons?  No one has come forward to bring clarity.

Fear not!

There are always more ways to accomplish what you want.  So, to get Pinterest back for MM use, I put together this little "How To".  It is written for users of Google Chrome, which is my browser of choice.  I have no doubt that  similar processes can be developed for Firefox, Safari and IE.

4 East Steps to Using Pinterest with Your MM Link

1.  The first thing you'll need to do is add the Pinterest Extension to your Chrome browser,  You can visit this link to install the Extension.

Once installed, you'll see an icon like this in your toolbar:

2.  Next you will want to visit a deal you want to share on Pinterest.  When you have located one, you need to highly the link as you see in this image:

That URL that is highlighted will include your MM affiliate link.

3.  With the link highlighted, return to the Pinterest icon you see in your browser and click it.  A window will popup from the Pinterest site.

4.  In the Pinterest Popup window, select the image that best represents the deal you want to share.

5.  Be sure to add a description with the deal price.

6.  You can actually quit here if you want, but if you want to get credit for your MM affiliate, you'll need to edit one piece in the Pinterest pin.  That is because the Pinterest extension strips out the affiliate parameter when the pin is created.  But you can edit any link in Pinterest (for now).  Just click in to your pin, select Edit, and then edit the Link to include your affiliate code.  For instance, the link in the Pin might look like this:

http://dealspl.us/Kitchen_deals/p_mini-personal-pie-maker-at-cooking-com  As written, clicking the Pin would take you to the page, but would not give your MM account the credit for the click.

To get credit for your affiliate link (Premium Link), you have to add your affiliate parameter to the end of the PIn you are editing.  My affliate is DealLeader, and as a parameter, it looks like this: ?r=DealLeader.

So to edit the link above to get credit as a Premium Link, you need to add your affiliate link to the end of the deal URL.

There you have it!  How to Pin deals to Pinterest in 6 Easy Steps.
