Save money as a musician.

Being a musician isn't a cheap hobby or career, but there are a few ways you can lighten the load a bit.These won't save you hundreds, but it'll save you a couple bucks here and there.
- First of with guitars and basses, if your stings start to seem dull don't immediately replace them, a good string cleaner like Ernie Ball Wonder Wipes ($1.99 for 6 wipes) can make them sound new again and make them last sometimes twice as long- You might not want to hear this but don't get the top of the line instrument just because you want to seem higher up, go with one that has a price matched to your skill, beginner=low priced career musician=high price- Buy strings and picks in bulk, if available. I got 100+ guitar picks for $9.99 that's $0.10 a pick versus at a music store $0.25+ per pick.- Unless you need it don't go for that Marshall amp, you can get the same power and sometimes the same sound out of an amp that costs half the price.- Use online tabs instead of tab books-As convenient as it may be to go to your local music store to get instruments, amps, strings, etc. it will cost you a lot more, sometimes double.- Go to a site like Musicians Friend. My local store charged $200+ for a lower quality guitar, I got one from a really good brand for $50+ less.- Buy used if you really want to save a lot.- Borrow or buy from friends as well can save a lot.-These are just some common sense ways to save some money. I'll update if I find some more interesting ways to save.
