I have to wonder about these landline-only Skype subscriptions to countries where hardly anyone uses a landline anymore! I tried one of these free offers, and there was no one to call, because everyone was cell phone only.

The last time the made an offer like this, you could immediately cancel your subscription online and you would still get the remainder of your first "month", which is really just a limited number of minutes that expire if you don't use them before the next billing period.

@AdeptKid & @maven3 are right, this ISN'T a FREE offer!! it's a subscription service where you sign up & get 400 mins free (1 month) & then it charges you a per month fee automatically, unless you cancel....this should have been included cause it's a waste of time unless you want the hassle of canceling...not worth it for me. these types of services entice you to sign up with a limited time free offer & hope you forget to cancel (which most do). full terms from http://happybirthday.skype.com/: Skype birthday offer Back to map 400 minutes of free calls to your friends and family in United States * Minutes 400 * Cost First month free, then €3,49/month Subscribe now Terms & Conditions Offer applies to 400 minute subscriptions to landlines in selected countries only from 30th September 2010 to 14th October 2010. Subject to availability, limited to twenty thousand subscriptions in total. Subscriptions will be free for the first month. After this, your subscription will automatically continue and payments will be taken monthly unless you cancel. To qualify for the offer you must (a) be aged 18 or over (b) have a registered Skype account and (c) have provided valid payment details. Only one free subscription per person. Monthly calling limit of 400 minutes applies for all subscriptions. This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook.

It's almost day over for October 10th and the free 400 mins ends October 14th. This is NOT a FREE offer. It's a scam to get you to subscribe to a useless service by offering you an extremely limited and misleading offer. I wonder why Dealspl.us tweeted it, today.

Very cool, but watch the fine print: "..in selected countries only from 30th September 2010 to 14th October 2010... Subscriptions will be free for the first month. After this, your subscription will automatically continue and payments will be taken monthly unless you cancel... and (c) have provided valid payment details." Thanks for finding!
